Tom J. Matson

CEO
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Tom has thirty nine years of experience in the financial services industry. Fifteen years in banking, ten with Bank of the West and five at Bank of America. Tom’s experience in traditional banking extended from capital markets, participations, syndications to corporate finance.

Tom founded Access & Mobility Finance with the mission to create a company that is a premier provider of capital to people with disabilities in order to maximize their potential and enhance their access to employment and recreational opportunities. AMF is unique in that its sole focus is serving the financing needs of individuals and families that require assistive technology.

Tom saw a niche market in the disability community that was being underserved by traditional lenders. Because individuals with disabilities have special needs and their incomes are often not from traditional employment sources, they have been overlooked as a viable and valuable market segment. The experience of AMF over the last fifteen years has proven this assumption to be inaccurate.

We executed this strategy by originating fully collateralized loans for the purchase of wheelchair accessible vehicles and other types of life-improving assistive technology. These loans were, and continue to be, sold to financial institutions.

AMF utilizes a nationwide network of hundreds of accessible vehicle and equipment dealers who use their financial services. The demographic changes that American society is undergoing coupled with the graying baby boomers, our returning and aging veterans, longer life expectancies, and unfortunately the continued occurrence of debilitating accidents and catastrophic illnesses, insures that the need for capital to assist disabled individuals will continue to grow.

Mark Johnson

Senior Underwriter

Mark brings 10 years of experience with First Collateral Services, a mortgage loan origination subsidiary of Citigroup, to his position with Access & Mobility Finance, Inc.

During his career at First Collateral Services, Mark was involved in mortgage underwriting and the management of the $50 million broker warehouse lines that supported First Collateral’s $5 billion portfolio of mortgage loans. His experience in managing a diverse network of mortgage brokers while maintaining credit quality has severed him well in the mobility industry, given the diversity of the mobility dealer network. In his capacity as a senior underwriter Mark makes insightful credit decisions based on thorough borrower interviews, collateral evaluation, and assessment of credit performance. He understands that the consideration of the intangibles sometimes makes the difference between a denial and a sound credit decision.

On the personal side, Mark is an avid golfer, both as a player and as a teacher of fathers and sons and fathers and daughters, wishing to develop their game together. Music is also a passion as a pianist and keyboard player.
